Project Manager, Lyrasis Mass Digitization Collaborative
Rutgers University Libraries, New Brunswick, NJ (Feb. 2010 – present)
Organize the digitization of 150,000 pages of materials from Rutgers University’s libraries. Working as a partner in the Lyrasis Mass Digitization Collaborative, and in conjunction with Rutgers University library’s Distributed Technical Services department and Special Collections, selected, examined, and updated catalog records of hundreds of books for shipment to the off site scanning facility. Along with the Scholarly Communication Center at Alexander Library, input all scanned files and metadata into the Rutgers Community Repository (RUcore).

Train and supervise student employees as they digitize materials for the online repository, check the completed work, ensure documents meet the collection policy, handle communications with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and users, fulfill document requests, and make updates to the website’s homepage announcements.

Scanned books, maps, newspapers, photographs, slides and processed videos sent from outside sources, entered metadata, and search for online documents to add to the New Jersey Environmental Digital Library. Entered images, text, and metadata for several organizations into the New Jersey Digital Highway using the Workflow Management System.

Independent Study

Tested and evaluated the new version of the Workflow Management System (WMS) of the New Jersey Digital Highway (NJDH). Worked with the Mount Holly Library and Burlington County Historical Society to digitize approximately 300 photographs for entry into NJDH through the EZ-Start program. Entered metadata into the WMS and into Past Perfect.
